Our Story

Founded in 2018 by a group of passionate local surfers, Carlsbad Board Riders Club was built on the belief that surfing is more than a sport — it’s a culture, a lifestyle, and a way of bringing people together.

Drawing inspiration from the legendary Australian Boardriders Club model, we became part of the larger US Board Riders network, connecting our community to competitive surf events up and down the Southern California coast.

Our Members

Our club welcomes everyone. Whether you’re a beginner just getting familiar with the stoke or a seasoned professional looking to compete with the best-of-the-best, there’s a place for you here.

Our membership includes current and former professional surfers, everyday surf enthusiasts, working professionals, first responders, students, and supportive parents — all united by a shared love for the ocean and the Carlsbad community.

Community Impact

Beyond competition, CBBR gives back. We fund annual scholarships for talented young athletes at Sage Creek High School and Carlsbad High School, and our events support youth programs that keep the next generation connected to the ocean.
